On September 10, 2026, OpenAI's announcement introduced ChatGPT for Financial Services, a specialized ChatGPT Work experience built around financial data and GPT-6 Astra reasoning. The product is designed to assist teams with research, financial modeling, and customized client materials.

OpenAI developed the product alongside design partners Morgan Stanley and Evercore to focus on investment banking and equity research workflows. The platform includes built-in datasets from providers such as Daloopa, PitchBook, and LSEG News covering financial statements, earnings transcripts, company fundamentals, and private companies. OpenAI indexes and hosts this data directly to enable features like granular citations, allowing users to trace claims back to specific source tables and passages.

For firms holding existing subscriptions, OpenAI is working with S&P Capital IQ, LSEG, MSCI, Dow Jones Factiva, and Moody's to offer shared sign-in integrations. OpenAI also optimized MCP connections for S&P Global and FactSet, alongside a connector ecosystem of over 50+ connectors including Datasite, Box, Preqin, and Intapp.

The system uses GPT-6 Astra for retrieval, financial analysis, and document synthesis into spreadsheets, documents, and slides. Administrators can publish Excel, Word, and PowerPoint templates through a central page to maintain firm styles across research notes and pitchbooks. On the OfficeQA Pro benchmark testing analysis across U.S. Treasury Bulletins, GPT-6 Astra scores 69.9%, compared with 60.2% for GPT-5.6 Sol.

ChatGPT for Financial Services incorporates ChatGPT Enterprise security features, including SAML SSO, SCIM provisioning, role-based access controls, and workspace retention configuration. Firm business data is encrypted at rest and in transit and is not used for model training by default. The product is currently available to eligible financial institutions.
