Frequently asked questions
Are these AI courses really free?+
Yes. Every course listed is free to take. A few are free to learn but offer paid extras, such as DeepLearning.AI's accomplishments with its PRO plan, and courses that call a model's API may need a paid API key to run the exercises.
Which free AI courses give a certificate?+
Kaggle's Intro to Machine Learning lists a certificate at no cost, and Hugging Face's AI Agents Course and MCP Course give a certificate of completion. Each course card shows a certificate only where the course page offers one.
Can I learn AI without coding?+
Yes, to start. Elements of AI states that no complicated maths or programming is required, Anthropic's AI Fluency courses and Claude 101 teach how to use AI tools, and the 3Blue1Brown and Andrej Karpathy videos explain how language models work without code.
Where should a complete beginner start?+
The AI for Beginners page lists courses that start from zero, with the prerequisites each course page states. Courses are grouped by the level the provider gives - Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced.
