OpenAI and ServiceNow have expanded their partnership across enterprise workflows to bring OpenAI models and agents into ServiceNow products and connect ServiceNow workflows with ChatGPT and Codex. The expansion builds on a partnership previously announced in January.

Under the expanded deal, a new ServiceNow integration brings business context and workflow actions directly into ChatGPT. Users can find similar incidents, assess change risks, and update ServiceNow records without leaving ChatGPT. ServiceNow is also previewing interactive experiences inside ChatGPT, such as allowing an on-call engineer to review linked monitoring alerts, recent changes, and affected services before assigning teams and working toward a fix. These actions apply business rules through ServiceNow’s Action Fabric.

OpenAI and ServiceNow plan to develop capabilities across three areas:

  • Application development: A planned Codex integration in ServiceNow’s AI Workflow Factory aims to help developers build applications using business context, with OpenAI models powering Build Agent and Autonomous Engineer.
  • Cybersecurity: A joint security solution will combine OpenAI’s cybersecurity capabilities with ServiceNow’s asset, identity, and business context to investigate vulnerabilities, prioritize risks, and coordinate remediation.
  • Voice: An OpenAI-powered voice experience in ServiceNow’s Super Intelligence Control Tower will allow people to describe an AI use case aloud to populate assessment fields and answer follow-up questions.

In addition, ServiceNow plans to roll out access to ChatGPT Work and Codex to all of its employees, extending beyond its engineering organization. OpenAI is also using ServiceNow workflows within its own operations, supported by the Super Intelligence Control Tower.

The ServiceNow MCP plugin is available in the OpenAI marketplace today, with enhanced capabilities expected by the end of 2026. Voice capabilities in the Super Intelligence Control Tower are expected in the first quarter of 2027. OpenAI-powered security capabilities are scheduled to enter early access in January 2027, with general availability planned for the second quarter of 2027. Codex in AI Workflow Factory is expected to be available in 2027.
