OpenAI has expanded its partnership with Oracle to integrate Oracle applications and data into ChatGPT and power new Oracle software with OpenAI models.
The update builds on an existing relationship covering the OpenAI API, ChatGPT Work, and Codex. Oracle reported 130,000 active ChatGPT users and more than 95,000 active Codex users. According to OpenAI, Oracle's recruiting team uses ChatGPT Work for market research preparation, taking 15-20 minutes for tasks that previously required two to four days.
As part of the expanded scope, Oracle is developing Oracle AI Workspace to bring Oracle applications and data into ChatGPT. The environment is designed to let employees describe goals, retrieve information, and execute approved business workflows. A new finance team member, for example, could use ChatGPT to investigate costs, understand purchasing decisions, and identify what remains before a month-end close by bringing together data from finance, procurement, and planning software.
Oracle also announced several products built using OpenAI technology:
- Oracle AI Security Mesh is designed to use OpenAI cyber models to help users identify and fix application and infrastructure vulnerabilities, with testing infrastructure managed by Oracle.
- Oracle AI SMB Bundle packages ChatGPT Business and Codex with Oracle software and recurring Oracle Cloud Infrastructure credits for small businesses.
- Oracle App Composer is designed to use Codex and other AI tools to help teams build apps connected to approved Oracle data and workflows, with deployment managed by Oracle on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Oracle customers in the U.S. can purchase access to the OpenAI API, Codex, and ChatGPT Work through Oracle Marketplace using existing procurement processes and eligible Oracle Universal Credits.
