Google announces EmbeddingGemma 2 model

Google introduced EmbeddingGemma 2, an open embedding model designed to map code, images, video, and audio into a unified space on everyday devices. Google says the model is engineered on the Gemma 4 architecture with 740 million parameters. According to Google, its modular design cuts local vector storage by up to six times, enabling developers to build private, offline applications.
