An OpenAI sixth-generation model released 22 September 2026 as gpt-6-sol, alongside GPT-6 Luna. OpenAI describes it as built for complex coding and agentic workflows and trained with methods similar to GPT-6 Astra, and priced 50% below GPT-5.6 Sol's promotional pricing. It takes text and image input and returns text, with a 1,050,000 token context window, 128,000 maximum output tokens and a 20 April 2026 knowledge cutoff. Reasoning effort can be set to none, low, medium (the default), high, xhigh or max. Available in the API, and in ChatGPT Work and Codex for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu users.
